Om arrangementet
YOGA and HOLIDAY with JUST YOGA.
You are invited to an energizing and educational yoga weekend at the cozy farm at Yogalåva on Neslandsvatn. With a focus on Ashtanga yoga and its beautiful basic principles, we have created a program where all classes will complement and help you delve deeper into Ashtanga yoga primary series and its positions.
You will be guided throughout the Primary series with modifications, a very nice opportunity to get to know the whole series in a gentle way.
This weekend is suitable both for you who already have an Ashtanga Yoga practice, and also you who are completely new to the series. Both Susan and Turid are instructors at all classes, and with only 10 participants, there will be good follow-up on each one.
Just yoga is a cordial collaboration between Turid Jørgensen Honerud and Susan Klein Holmen. From the first meeting, they have had a mutual respect, understanding and inspiration for each other's way of working, both in yoga and life, and quickly found out that their relationship would become a long-term collaboration.
They have arranged several yoga weekends together and are both skilled yoga instructors with a lot of care for their students. And they have a common desire to help each one find their way into yoga.
With them on the team, they have got Elisabeth Haugo as a chef and motivator for healthy nutritious and sustainable food. She is the owner and operator of Kafe Hvidesøe in Kvitseid, practices yoga and has learned from yoga medicine, Ayurveda, how food and spices are medicine. She uses her knowledge actively in composing dishes. Elisabeth will lead us through the weekend with delicious nutritious dishes and invigorating juices.
In addition, you will get Yogalåva's fresh organic sourdough bread from spelled made by Turid.
This weekend you can spend the night at Yogalåva glamping, in an adventurous canvas tent, cosily furnished with 4 beds, duvets, carpets and lanterns.
The tents are spacious enough for comfort (6 m diameter, 3 m ceiling height), with electricity and heater, you can both be on a tent trip and be dry and warm whatever the weather. On hot days, the walls can be rolled up so you get a cool and delicious temperature in the tent. A magical experience!

More about the instructors:
Susan Klein Holmen has E-Ryt 500 yoga teacher training from HI-Yoga in Oslo.
She runs "Yoga with Susan" in Grenland and is a sought-after instructor in the area.
She is also an interior designer and runs her own company «Stell Design».
Susan has participated in several workshops with great dedicated yoga instructors such as John Scott, David Swensen, Kino Mac Gregor and the guru of Ashtanga yoga Paramaguru Sharat Jois.
She teaches Ashtanga yoga, yin yoga, yoga flow, chakra workshops and meditation.
Turid Jørgensen Honerud has Ryt 200 yoga teacher training from Asta Yoga in San Francisco and runs his own yoga studio "Yogalåva" at home on the farm in Drangedal. There she offers courses, open classes and yoga events, as well as massage. She has a basic education as a masseur at Normassasje in Lillesand.
From July 2020, it will also be possible to rent canvas tents at Yogalåva glamping.
She is a musician and toured for many years with the band Katzenjammer. At that time, yoga was practiced in many a backstage and hotel room. She has also used the opportunity to practice at many different yoga studios on her way out on tour. When she was at home, she practiced with Karen Kollien Nygård at Zanti Yoga in Oslo.
Turid is an experienced yoga instructor and is concerned that everyone should be able to follow their own pace, and to convey that you should not measure yourself against others.
We all have different starting points and must work from ourselves and not the sidekick or the neighbor.
She teaches Ashtanga yoga, vinyasa flow, restorative yoga, pranayama, and has also taught some yoga for children.
More about the chef:
Elisabeth Haugo and has run Kafe Hvidesøe in Kviteseid since 2013. Her food school has been at home with mothers almost all over the world, who have taught her how to use spices to create the most amazing flavors and how to cook enough food for everyone themselves with little money. Through her own journey of illness, she has actively sought knowledge about how the food she eats affects how she feels, and how small touches can lead to enormous changes.
She has learned from yoga medicine, Ayurveda, how food and spices are medicine, and uses the knowledge actively in composing dishes.
Her goal is to share with you the joy of eating well.
Healthy food full of nutrients that your body loves and at the same time full of taste - which satisfies both the palate and the senses.
Her approach to healthy and tasty food is as much about sensible food choices for the body as it is for the environment. How the food is grown has an enormous amount to say for the nutritional content of the food. How far the food has to travel has an enormous amount to say for transport emissions related to food production.
It will be served organic, seasonal, and, this weekend, mainly vegetarian food. The beginning of September is the perfect time for yoga retreats for the simple reason that it is harvest season in Norway. We can eat all of the local, fresh vegetables, straight from the ground.
The most nutritious, diverse - and environmentally friendly.
There will be some self-cultivation from Yogalåva, otherwise as local as possible, with inspiration and flavors from around the world. Most of the food she makes is gluten-free, milk-free and sugar-free. Without these regulars, a whole world of alternatives opens up - which she shares with you this weekend!
Elisabeth also hopes that you will be inspired to make even more amazing, healthy food, which is good both for you and for the environment when you return home, and is happy to share tips and procedures with those who may wish it.
